February is Black
History Month (BHM). It has long been celebrated with special events. This
includes parades, exhibits, lectures, music performances, and plays. But that
was before the pandemic. Things look a lot different for Black History Month
2021.
But that doesn’t
mean we can’t still delve deep into the rich history of the culture. The
Association for the Study of African American Life and History has provided a
theme for BHM since 1928. This year's theme is “The Black Family:
Representation, Identity, and Diversity.”
Family is so
important. Keeping that in mind, here are five ways to celebrate Black History
Month 2021 near Soma and the San Francisco area.
